Broad River Animal Hospital has a state-of-the-art in-house laboratory that can provide accurate test results in a very short time. The sooner we can diagnose health problems in pets, the sooner we can treat them. Additionally, we work with an outside lab to offer any specialized tests your pet may need.
Digital Radiography
Broad River Animal Hospital offers the most current and modern x-rays with a digital x-ray system. Digital X-rays are complete in a matter of seconds to allow evaluation of bones, the heart and lungs and other internal organs. When necessary, our veterinary team are able to transmit your pet’s images by computer to a board-certified radiologist for interpretation.
Ultrasound
Broad River Animal Hospital uses ultrasound imaging to produce images of the inside of the body by exposing a part of the body to high-frequency sound waves. This allows our team to see the structure and movement of your pet’s internal organs, as well as blood flowing through the blood vessels because we capture ultrasound images in real-time.
Allergies & Dermatology
Dogs and cats suffer from a wide range of skin, mouth, ear, hair and nail diseases. Skin conditions may be related to allergies, reactions to flea bites and other external parasites, infections, skin cancers, autoimmune skin diseases, or sun damage.
Ear infections are also very common. Most ear infections in adult dogs are caused by bacteria and yeast. Ear mites are a common issue in puppies and cats of all ages, but are rare in adult dogs. Watch for common signs of ear issues in your dog, including scratching and rubbing at the ears, head shaking, and redness or swelling.
