Dr. Jill Petersen

Dr. Jillian (Jill) Petersen obtained her bachelor's degree in biology from Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, NC. She first became interested in the veterinary field while obtaining her undergraduate degree. She realized it combined two of her favorite things- science and animals- and after gaining experience working as a veterinary assistant, set her sights on veterinary school. Following graduation, she spent a year living on and working at a horse farm, as well as continuing to work in mixed animal practice as an assistant. Dr. Jill graduated from NC State University with her DVM degree in 2026, as well as her veterinary acupuncture certification. Dr. Jill chose to move to the Asheville area following graduation to be closer to the Blue Ridge Mountains that she fell in love with during her undergraduate years. Dr. Jill's interests include senior pet care, dentistry, and internal medicine.

Dr. Jill enjoys spending time with her dog, Wally, and two cats, Zander and Odin. When not at work, you can find her doing anything that gets her outside, especially running, hiking, and cycling, as well as riding her horse, Trooper.
