Anne McRae

Practice Manager

Anne McRae grew up in Tucker, GA where she began working in the veterinary industry at the age of 16. She has worked in many areas of practice from cleaning kennels and walking dogs to managing all aspects of front and back of house operations. When she is not working, she enjoys live music, camping, gardening in her yard, spending time with family and hanging out with pets Percey, Coal, Little Ray and Millie. She is married and has a son at Appalachian State University.

One of the things Anne loves most about working at Broad River Animal Hospital is that it feels like family. And the views-you can’t beat the views!

Deb

RVT

I started my Vet Tech career later in life, after graduating from the first Vet Tech class at AB Tech. I really love my job and feel like I actually make a difference in the lives of my patients. I enjoy client communication and education.

I share my home with my husband, 3 dogs, 2 cats, 2 pot-bellied pigs, 2 prairie dogs and a cockatiel.

I like to spend my spare time with my husband and two grown children. We enjoy cruises and attending car shows in our antique cars.

Kiri

Client Service Representative
Kiri has many years of veterinary experience, beginning as a teenager with an after-school kennel job. She went on to work as an assistant and front desk associate at a handful of hospitals in New York state and North Carolina. She had also taken a vet med hiatus or two to explore other ventures, most recently to Colorado from 2018 to 2020. Overwhelmed by too much snow, not enough barbecue and the onset of COVID-19, she returned to Western NC in 2020, where her heart has always remained, as well as her family. Kiri is a proud aunt to three adventurous teenagers, Finn, Sam & Hunter, and two perfectly imperfect German shorthaired pointers, Trout & Catch. She is currently waiting for the perfect older dog to enter her life, and the search will continue…stay tuned!

They have a Shorkie (Aspen), an Australian Cattle Dog (Ryli), and a large Tabby boy (Boomer). Jacob

Hospital Mascot

Our beloved Jacob came to Broad River Animal Hospital in August, 2018. He’d been involved in an accident getting hit by a truck. The doctors had high hopes of him being able to rehabilitate his injuries but after weeks/months of intense treatment and rehab he remained without the use of his back legs. At this point he was so loved by the ladies at the hospital they decided to adopt him and make him a permanent part of the staff! Jacob lives with one of our senior technicians, Kelly.

Jacob has a special wheelchair that allows him to be mobile. One of his very favorite things to do is to go hiking and swim in creeks! You can find him cruising around the hospital at lunchtime greeting everyone that visits. Especially children! He loves children! Jacob does his best to make sure everything is running smoothly at the hospital. He is quick to give moral support to his ladies when they have hard days.

Jacob is our biggest cheerleader when it comes to our annual food and supply drive. He loves helping others in need.
